Artist's Description
I was cleaning out my bluebird boxes in preparation for spring nesting and this little flying squirrel decided to give my heart a startle test by jumping out at me. Since it was daytime and these little guys are nocturnal, I left the nesting material there, closed the box and left. As much as I wanted to photograph him, it wasn't worth endangering him by making him come out during the day. A couple of months later, I was walking by the box in the early evening and saw him poking his head out. So I grabbed my camera and got some shots of him. Isn't he just the cutest?
